Lower School

Grades K-5

Embracing Academics in a Supportive and Nurturing Environment

In our Kindergarten-Grade 5 classrooms, teachers, students, and parents work closely together to lay the foundations required for a lifetime of learning.  We embrace the challenges and the joys of learning in a respectful and supportive environment.  Each grade level is taught in a self-contained classroom, emphasizing the subjects of reading, science, social studies, spelling, grammar, and writing.

Extending Education Beyond the Classroom

Every week lower school students participate in resource classes such as Engineering, Computer, Art, Music, and Physical Education.  Field trips, musical and dramatic productions, guest speakers, and special assemblies also extend education beyond the classroom.  Highlight events for our lower school students include the Kindergarten Mother’s Day Brunch, AVA Field Day, Blue & White Day, Grandparent’s Day, and the Winter & Spring Musicals.
