About TA’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Tidewater Academy has a chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), an interdenominational Christian organization founded in 1954. The mission of the FCA is to challenge coaches, athletes, and supporters to serve their local communities while making a difference for Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America.

Tidewater Academy has had an FCA chapter for 8 years, with approximately 50 members from the Middle and Upper Schools. The Upper and Middle School FCA advisor is Mrs. Vicky Goodrich.

Members of TA’s FCA serve the community by working at a local food pantry and leading the Sunday worship service at various local churches throughout the year. FCA also funds a college scholarship every year for a graduating senior, and presents an annual Veterans Day Program and Lunch for students and the community. In addition to these acts of service, the Middle School FCA participates in the Samaritan’s Purse International Relief effort during the holiday season each year.

Upper School’s 2016-17 Officers are Dylan Hanzlik (President), Taylor Laxton (Vice President), Zach Goodrich (Secretary),  and Cameron Parham (Treasurer).  Middle School’s 2016-17 Officers are Abbie Carroll (Chairman) and Phillip Pond and Jamison Rogers (Co-Chairs).
