AVA Arts Festival @ Isle of Wight Academy – November 6, 2013
Tidewater Academy celebrates the arts at various events held each school year.
Preschool – 5th Grade present various grade-level music and dramatic productions throughout the year.
The Grandparents Day Music Program is presented by Lower School students each fall.
The Christmas Music Program is presented by Lower School students during the holiday season.
The Troxler Library/Wakefield Foundation Student Art Competition is held each March. This competition is open to students from Sussex and Surry counties. Middle and Upper School students from Tidewater Academy submit their artwork and compete successfully every year.
The TA ArtFest is held annually each April. ArtFest is a time to celebrate the artwork of all TA students, from Lower School to Upper School. Their artwork is proudly displayed at the Wakefield Foundation.
TA also participates in the AVA Arts Festival each fall. The Arts Festival celebrates the performing arts and the visual arts. Students from seven AVA schools showcase their talents at this yearly festival. Throughout the school year, students’ visual arts are displayed at each of the AVA schools in the AVA Traveling Art Show.
The Rawls Museum Student Art Competition is held each year in April. Middle and Upper School students from Tidewater Academy submit their artwork for this regional competition and compete successfully each year.
The Flower & Art Show, presented by the Wakefield Foundation, is held annually each May. TA’s Middle and Upper School art students submit their designs for judging at this competition.
