About TA’s National Honor Society
Tidewater Academy holds a local chapter within the National Honor Society (NHS). NHS is a premier, nationwide organization established in 1921 to recognize outstanding high school students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Students who are selected to be members of their schools’ local chapters are challenged to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. Local chapters, like Tidewater Academy, are governed by The National Constitution of NHS as well as the local chapter’s by laws. NHS members at Tidewater Academy participate in various community service and fundraising activities throughout the school year. Mrs. Gail Ford-Westbrook is Tidewater’s advisor for NHS.
